James Rundquist Obituary

BANNER - James Rundquist, 63, of Banner passed away at 7:08 p.m. Monday, Sept. 1, 2014, at his home, surrounded by his family and friends.

Jim fought a courageous battle with cancer.

He was born on Feb. 24, 1951, in Springfield, Ill., to Walter and Helen Johnson Rundquist. They preceded him in death.

Surviving are two children, Nikki (Daniel) Matheny of Bartonville and Lindsay (Brian) Ballard of Mapleton; six grandchildren, Lexy, Ethan, Bradin Ballard and Madilyn, Delaney and Ryder Matheny; and three stepgrandchildren, Drew, Samantha and Jake Matheny.

Also preceding him in death was one brother, Gary.

Jim worked for the Banner Township and was also a skilled carpenter.

He also enjoyed outdoor activities, including hunting, fishing and four-wheeling. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.

A visitation will be held on Friday, Sept. 5, 2014, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Oaks-Hines Funeral Home in Canton. Cremation rites have been accorded and a private burial of ashes will be held at the Walnut Cemetery in rural Banner.
