WASHINGTON - Janet Rose Durr, 77, of Washington passed away at 12:05 p.m. at Washington Christian Village on Saturday, Feb. 25, 2012.
Janet was born Nov. 9, 1934, in Peoria, the daughter of Eugene and Emma (Hauck) Short. She married William D. Durr in Peoria on Nov. 30, 1962.
She is survived by her husband of 49 years; one son, William (Diane) Durr of Washington; one daughter, Susan (Sean) Reed of Streator; one stepson, Kenton Durr of Duncannon, Pa.; one sister, Jean Ann (Maurice) Stephens of Dunlap; one nephew, Paul (LeeAnn) Stephens of Dunlap; and three grandchildren, Alaina and Brendan Durr and Leah Rose Reed.
Janet was preceded in death by her parents.
She was a member of St. John's Lutheran, where she enjoyed being in the quilting circle. Janet loved spending time with friends and family and had a special place in her heart for her grandchildren.
Services will be Thursday, March 1, 2012, at 11 a.m. at Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel at 2021 N. University St., Peoria, IL 61604. The Rev. Michael Jones will officiate. Visitation will be Wednesday evening, Feb. 29, 2012, from 5 to 7 p.m. and 10 a.m. until the time of service on Thursday. Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital in Memphis or to the donor's choice.
