ODELL - Jeffrey D. Graves, 40, of Odell, Ill., died on Monday, May 3, 2010, at 6:39 a.m. at OSF St. Joseph Medical Center in Bloomington, Ill., after a battle with kidney cancer.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 6, 2010, at Martin Funeral Home in Pontiac, with the Rev. Gretchen Stinebaugh officiating. Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. today, May 5, 2010, at the funeral home. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery in rural Pontiac, Ill.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be left to the family.
Jeff was born on Oct. 15, 1969, in Pontiac, Ill., a son of Paul and Barbara (Dunham) Graves Sr. He married Nancy Harner on Sept. 24, 1994, in Pontiac, Ill.
He is survived by his wife, Nancy Graves of Odell, Ill.; one son, Colt Graves at home; his parents, Paul and Barbara Graves Sr. of Pontiac, Ill.; one brother, Paul (April) Graves Jr. of Pontiac, Ill.; one sister, Karen Cabell of Jacksonville, Fla.; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents.
Jeff graduated from Chenoa High School and graduated cum laude from Western Illinois University with a B.S. degree in science, where he was a member of the Alpha Zeta Gamma Fraternity.
He worked as a development engineer for Caterpillar Mossville Tech Center.
