WASHINGTON - Judith Ann Courson, 67, of Washington passed away Friday, Jan. 31, 2014, at OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home in Peoria.
A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 1, at Washington Presbyterian Church, 105 S. Elm St., Washington, Ill.
She is survived by her mother, Dorothy Courson; brother, Stanley (Ervine) Courson; sister, Patricia (Bob) Hutchings; sister-in-law, Sandra Courson; and nine nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father; brother, Tom; and sisters, Tina and Debra.
Judith taught school for 36 years in Washington, Ill. After retirement, Judith volunteered at Luthy Botanical Garden and worked weekends at Step in Time.
She loved working in her flower beds, going on trips, antiques and meeting with friends for breakfast and coffee.
Memorial contributions may be made to OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home in Peoria.

Miss Courson was my fifth grade teacher and once I became a teacher I appreciated even more how amazing she was. I still tell my own children about her old fashion days...walking to school...having class outside on benches and writing on slate boards. She will always be remembered.
