Kenneth McDonald
PEORIA - Kenneth Richard McDonald, 77, of Lodi, Calif., formerly of Peoria, passed away on Sunday, Jan. 8, 2017, at Vienna Nursing Home in Lodi, Calif.
He was born on May 14, 1939, in Peoria, Ill., to Kenneth and Idabell (Carson) McDonald. They preceded him in death, along with his wife, Norma S. McDonald; one sister, Susan K. McDonald; one son, James F. McDonald; and one grandson, Benard J. Chase.
Ken is survived by 3 sons, Scott McDonald and Rick McDonald, both of Peoria Heights, and John C. McDonald of Six Mile Creek, S.C.; two daughters, Mrs. Kathy (Edward) Lulay of East Peoria, Ill., and Lori Short of Six Mile Creek, S.C.; 5 grandchildren; and 6 great-grandchildren.
Ken was a Vietnam veteran. He had worked at Pabst Brewery in Peoria Heights until it's closing. He was a 55-year member of the Carpenters Union. He was active in the Abbas Grotto and also with anything to do with Irish-American festivities.
Ken was a free spirit who enjoyed a cold beer and riding his motorcycle in his younger years. He will be very missed.
There will be no services held. Cremation has been accorded.
