CANTON - Kermitt R. Easley, 65, of 22648 N. Taylor Road died at 6:52 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 23, 2007, at Graham Hospital in the emergency room in Canton.
He was born on April 25, 1942, in Macomb, Ill., to Keith and Jessie (Brockley) Easley.
He first married Donna Lyons in 1966; she preceded him in death. He then married Bonnie Riley on Dec. 21, 1969, in Canton. She survives.
Also surviving are five daughters, Robin (Todd) Ewalt of Canton, Jeri (DeLoyd) Gentry of Canton, Tess (Tim) Link of Dunfermline, Kimberly (Clint) Hollis of Doyline, La., and Tiffani (Kevin) Tarter of Canton; two sisters, Louise Walke of Quincy, Fla., and Martha Chenoweth of Morton; 13 grandchildren, Jake, Kayla, Tyler and Makenzie Ewalt, Brooks and Heather Gentry, Breanne and Bret Link, Hayden, Cale, Colby Grace Hollis, and Austin and Cassidy Tarter; and one great-grandson, Braxton Gentry.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, William; and one sister, Janette Porter.
He was a member of the Vermont Christian Church.
He was owner and operator of Easley Mechanical Services in Canton. He was a member of the Canton Chamber of Commerce, Fulton County Farm Bureau and the Gelbvieh Cattle Association.
He was a Vietnam War U.S. Army veteran, serving with Satcom Division.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. today at Oaks-Hines Funeral Home in Canton, where visitation was held from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday. Burial will be in Walnut Cemetery in rural Banner.
Memorials may be made to a Agriculture Scholarship at Spoon River College c/o MidAmerica National Bank in his name.

So sorry for your loss. I feel blessed to have known Kermitt for a short while. He was a wonderful man. They don't make 'em like that any more. God be with all of you.
