I didn't know Lennie very well, but she played a very important part in my life after a bad car accident. She and two friends had been to Lacon for lunch and were coming along the blacktop from Lacon to Henry when a semi-driver flagged them down for help. He was attempting to get me out of the upside-down car and needed someone to get me to a doctor. They agreed to drive me to the doctor. During the painful trip I laid my head on Lennie's pregnant tummy and she comforted me all the way to the Doctor. I had seven broken ribs and a concussion. She was a sweet, caring person. Had a wonderful conversation with her son, Don, several months ago and shared the story with him. Blessings to her family. Joy

Rosemary, Ruthie, Bud, JoAnn, Donnie and family. She was one of my favorites. Often, I find myself using one of her observations and opinions when discussing topics like race, religion and family values. Even now, she can make me cry and laugh at the same time. Too bad there are not more people like her. A great wife, mother, mentor and friend. Rest in peace.
