Lorena Speidel Obituary
EAST PEORIA — Lorena F. Speidel, 99, of East Peoria died at 5:15 AM on Thursday, November 15, 2018 at Heartland Health Care Center – Riverview in East Peoria. She was born on July 26, 1919 in Nebo, IL to Harvey and Ida (Mills) Hill. She married Paul C. Speidel on June 17, 1939 in Hannibal, MO. They were married for 54 years before he preceded her in death on September 14, 1993. Lorena's survivors include 2 children Phillip (Jennifer) Speidel of Forth Worth, TX and Phyllis (Ralph) Yerby of Germantown Hills; 3 grandchildren Steven (Edna) Johnson, Ross Speidel and Rachael (fiancé Will) Speidel; and 1 great grandchild Andrew Johnson. She was preceded in death by 1 sister Loretta Heathman. Lorena was formerly active in Proctor Auxiliary with over 1000 volunteer hours. She was also active in Card Club, Fondulac Ladies Golf League, East Peoria Woman's Club and the Red Hat Society. Lorena was a member of the Fondulac Congregational Church. Visitation will be Sunday, November 18 from 2-4 PM at Gary Deiters Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 444 E. Washington St., East Peoria. Funeral service will be at 10 AM on Monday, November 19 at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Fondulac Cemetery. Rev. Mary Arnold will officiate.
