Lorraine Carr Obituary
PEORIA - Lorraine A. Carr, 57, of Peoria, passed away at 11 p.m. Monday, January 1, 2018, at the OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home in Peoria.
She was born on October 11, 1960, to Robert T. and Sumi (Mori) Carr in Peoria. She married her longtime partner, Lynn Decker, in July of 2015 in Peoria. She survives.
She was preceded in death by her mother and one sister, Lisa Beeney.
Lori is survived by her father, Bob; her spouse, Lynn; their two k-9 children, Charlie and Sydney; one sister, Alice Carr of Manito; and four nephews, Jarek (Amy) Palmer of Normal, Stevie (Gabby) Palmer of Peoria, Skylar Beeney-Carr and Ethan Beeney-Carr of Trivoli.
She was a Courier at FedEx for 21 years, last working in May of 2017. She had previously worked as a baker for Thompson Food Basket for 18 years, starting right out of high school.
Lori was an excellent fisherman and enjoyed camping. She was a very talented cook and loved to have big fish fries. She had an ornery sense of humor and was famous for delivering witty one liners at any occasion. She loved family and friends and didn't hesitate to help them with projects...fixing anything...she was our MacGyver. Her patience was her virtue, her sense of humor one of her greatest qualities. She treasured her dogs and all animals.
A catered visitation with refreshments, food and sharing stories about Lori's life will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday, January 6, 2018, at Henderson Funeral Home & Crematory, 2131 Velde Dr., Pekin, IL. Cremation rites will be accorded after the gathering.
Lori's family would like to express their heartfelt thanks for the outstanding care she received from OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home, Dr. Phillip Olsson, Illinois CancerCare, Dr. Nguyet Le-Lindqwister and Kami Doubet.
In lieu of flowers or plants, the family request donations be made to the OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home, Illinois CancerCare or Peoria Humane Society.

My memories of Lori all the fun we had at the P.P.D. Picnics when she was such a little spitfire. She took great pleasure in snatching my ball hat initiating a chase.
She will be missed. As she was an avid fisherman, now she is the fisher of men. God Bless Her.

My name Is Mike Shelton. I grew up with Lori, (as we called her). I live 2 houses down, on the next street over. We hung around a lot when I was young. She was very funny, and liked hunting and fishing. Sorry to hear of her passing.

Im so very grateful to have been one of the lucky ones who got to know Lori and count her as a friend. She was just a beautiful person inside and out and she will be missed here. I am looking forward to her showing me the best fishing spots on the other side and maybe a few rounds of Pinochle will follow. I cant tell you how sorry I am for your feeling of loss.
