Louis Rickard Obituary

Louis Rickard
METAMORA - Louis DeWayne Rickard, 76, of Blue Eye, Missouri, died Wednesday, September 7, 2016. Born March 15, 1940, in Wichita, KS, he was the son of Gene and Ida Mae Rickard. DeWayne now rests with our Lord and Savior and will be remembered always by those that knew him. Arrangements and cremation are under the direction of Cremations of the Ozarks.
He had a tremendous heart and the spirit of a young boy displayed through his adventures that included water-skiing even at the age of 64. He loved the sun, the lake, boating, skiing and fishing and he created extraordinary memories for his children that now live on in his children and grandchildren. The best family memories were built on Table Rock Lake in Missouri where DeWayne and his wife, Kate, retired in 2004. His family will always be thankful for the spirit of adventure that was innate in him which shows up in each of his children and grandchildren in its own way. He has left a mark on his family that emphasizes the importance of making memories. For his children that included him watering the backyard in the winter to make an ice skating ring for his son, daughter and the neighborhood kids and spending days putting up Christmas lights so their home lit up the street during the Christmas season. He was dedicated to attending every football game, wrestling match, softball game, volleyball game, and track event of his children. He was an amazingly dedicated father and his children will always be grateful.
On top of being a loving husband and father, DeWayne also had a love of football and was known for spending his Sundays correcting the referees from his chair, and you could always count on arriving in their home to the sound of FOX news in the background. DeWayne prided himself in keeping his yard impeccable and loved riding his lawn mower so much that you would often find him mowing the yards of his neighbors that needed assistance. DeWayne will always be remembered for lending a hand to anyone in need.
Survivors include his wife, Kate Rickard of Blue Eye, MO; son, Doug Rickard of Metamora, IL; daughter-in-law, Diane Lantz-Rickard of Metamora, IL; daughter, Lynn Viscioni Wilson of Little Rock, AR; son-in-law, David Wilson of Little Rock, AR; grandchildren Danielle Rickard Garrett of Marietta, GA; Ryan Rickard of Applegate, OR; Courtney Rickard of Loveland, CO; Cailey Lantz of Chicago, IL; Spencer Lantz of Peoria, IL and Lance DeLaney Viscioni of Little Rock, AR.
DeWayne has now joined his loved ones in Heaven that include his parents, Gene and Ida Mae Rickard; his brother, Gary; his son, John David; his daughter Sheryl Lynn; and son-in-law, Lance Michel Viscioni.
