EAST PEORIA - Louis E. Schoff, age 92, of East Peoria, formerly of Peoria, passed away Thursday, April 29, 2010, at 3:32 p.m. at Manor Care at Riverview in East Peoria.
He was born Nov. 3, 1917, in Peoria to Louis F. and Emma (Marston) Schoff. He first married Bertha L. Sleeth on Nov. 7, 1936, in Peoria. She passed away June 25, 1994, in Peoria. He later married Janet Baker on May 24, 2002. She passed away Aug. 2, 2009, in East Peoria.
He also was preceded in death by two sisters, Emma Biggs and Marietta Bradshaw; and two grandchildren, Heidi Bahr and Jamie Tripp.
Survivors include two daughters, Luella (Wilbur) Bahr of Peoria and Sharon (James) Tripp of Mapleton; one stepdaughter, Sara Baker of Morton; three grandchildren, Brad (Michelle) Bahr of Midland, Mich., Jill (Mark) Spilotro of Georgetown, Texas, and Tammy (Jeff) Beranek of Peoria; and seven great-grandchildren.
Louis worked for Keystone Steel & Wire Co. in Bartonville for 41 years, retiring in 1976.
He was a member of the Keystone Retirees, Keystone Managements Club, Keystone Good Fellows and Friendly Neighbor Club, American Institute of Metallurgical Engineers, American Society of Metals and the Hanna City Sportsman Club.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, May 4, 2010, at 10 a.m. at the Davison-Fulton Bartonville Chapel. Visitation will be Monday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in St. John's Lutheran Church Cemetery in Bartonville.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, American Diabetes Association or to the charity of your choice.

Luella and Sharon-
Aunt Linda told me that Uncle Louis passed away from stomach cancer. I am sorry to hear that and will always remember swimming and eating OREOs at his house when I was a kid.

Lots of great memories of "Uncle Bud"....family gatherings, birthday parties, Uncle Art's Office, July 4th on Moss Ave., Uncle Bud & Aunt Bert's swimming pool...a good and kind man...you will be missed.
