MORTON - Lyle A. Malinowski, 73, of Morton passed away at 11:10 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 2, 2014, at his home.
He was born Dec. 12, 1940, in Bloomington to Alfred "Butch" and Angie (Ulry) Malinowski. He married Colleen Jones in 1959. He later married Carolyn Shoemaker on April 22, 1978, in Peoria. She preceded him in death on March 7, 2007.
He also was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Margaret.
He leaves to cherish his memory three daughters, Pamela (Michael) Noe of Peoria, Rebecca (Brett) Richardson of Mechanicsville, Va., and Wendi Seaman (Thom Stachurski) of Bloomington; six grandsons, Brian (Rachel) Naramore, Luke and Dane Richardson, Jake Mather, Aidan Seaman and Michael Ice; two great-granddaughters, Abbigail and Elizabeth Naramore; and five brothers, Bud Malinowski, Virgil (Betty) Malinowski and Jim (Aretta) Malinowski, all of Bloomington, Joe (Jude) Malinowski of Goodfield and Bob (Pat) Malinowski of Texas; and many nieces and nephews.
Lyle worked at Morton Buildings for 45 years, retiring in 2004 as plant manager of Morton and general manager of all plants.
He was an avid softball player and bowler in his youth and an avid golfer later in his life. Lyle was a die-hard Cubs and Bears fan.
Visitation will be from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 7, 2014, at Knapp-Johnson Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Morton. Further visitation will be from 9 to 10 a.m. Monday, Dec. 8, followed by a funeral service at 10 a.m. at the funeral home. Cremation will be accorded following the service. Burial of the cremated remains will be in Davis Cemetery in Pesotum, Ill., at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Lung Association or to a charity of the donor's choice.

To all of Lyle's family..I have many many fond memories of Lyle throughout the years. He and my father worked closely together at Morton Buildings. My dad talked very fondly of Lyle! My thoughts and prayers are with you..so sorry for your loss.
