Manoyla Durbin Obituary

PEKIN - Manoyla Manuela Durbin, 84, of Pekin passed away on Thursday, Dec. 31, 2009, at Timber Creek Rehab in Pekin.

She was born in Honolulu, Hawaii, on Jan. 1, 1925, to Vivencio and Martino Enveno De La Pena.

She is survived by her children, Jonathan Romano of Monarch Beach, Calif., Terry (Angie) Durbin of Peoria, Juanita Romano of Pasco, Wash., and Theresa (Ramone) Ramos of Pekin. She also leaves behind her 11 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Manoyla worked as a cook at Sunset Country Club for many years, retiring in 2000.

She was a loving mother and grandmother.

She enjoyed dancing and music, but she especially enjoyed cooking for her family and friends. She will always be remembered for her smile.

She was a member of the Council of Catholic Women and St. Joseph Catholic Church, where a funeral Mass will be held for her on Friday, Jan. 8, at 11 a.m. Father Pat Fixsen will officiate, and burial will be in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Pekin. Visitation will be at Abts Mortuary on Thursday from 5 to 7 p.m., with a rosary at 7 p.m.

Memorials may be made in her name to her church.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Abts Mortuary.
