WASHINGTON - Margaret Ann Heavrin passed away peacefully at her home in Washington, IL, on Wednesday, May 3, 2017, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born October 29, 1935, in Peoria, IL, to Robert and Mildred "Dolly" Spring Alexander. She married Kayton Heavrin on November 20, 1955.
Surviving are her two sons, Bret (Shelly) Heavrin and Timothy "Rudy" Heavrin, both of Washington; four grandchildren, Katie Heavrin, Casey (Heavrin) Pfeifer, Kyle Heavrin and Kelsey (Heavrin) Suarez, all of Washington; one brother, Richard (Dick) Alexander of Washington; one aunt, Doris Kunard of Macomb, IL; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, and two brothers, Charles "Chuck" Alexander and Donald Alexander.
Marg was a wonderful mother, beloved grandmother and friend to all. As a homemaker, she was always involved in her children's activities. She was her grandchildren's biggest fan and cheerleader. She was in the inaugural class of Oehrlein School of Cosmetology. Upon graduation, she started Marg's Hair Magic at 205 Sterling Street from 1974-1979, then moved to 504 Spring Street from 1979-1988. Marg was also a Mary Kay consultant who achieved numerous sales awards throughout her career. She found her niche making people feel and look their best. She also enjoyed boating and water skiing, but her favorite past time was spending time with her family and friends.
She was a member of Crossroads United Methodist Church in Washington.
A funeral service is scheduled for 10 a.m. Monday, May 8, 2017, at Crossroads United Methodist Church. Visitation will be Sunday, May 7, 2017, at Mason-White Funeral Home in Washington from 2 until 4 p.m. Further visitation will be one hour prior to her service on Monday at the church.
