PEORIA - Marguerite Geraldine Schlis, 83, of Broken Arrow, Okla., formerly of Peoria, Ill., passed away on Saturday, Nov. 3, 2012, in Broken Arrow, Okla., surrounded by her family.
A memorial service is being planned by her family and will take place in Illinois in the near future. Please check back to the website, www.keyfuneralhome.com, for the date, place and time. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Key Funeral Home in Pryor, Okla.
Marguerite was born on Aug. 20, 1929, in Shawneetown, Ill., to Virgil and Margie (Saffer) Locklar.
She is survived by her two daughters, Margie Lynn Taylor of Broken Arrow and Candace Kay Ricca-Chapa and husband Fernando of Peoria, Ill.; five grandkids, Lori Kay Sellers of Broken Arrow, Angela Lynn Heitman of Bartonville, Ill., Margaret Leah Garnant of Peoria, Ill., Jimmy Ricca of Bartonville, Ill., and Matthew Reed of Claremore, Okla.; seven great-grandkids; three great-great-grandkids; two brothers, Donald Locklar of California and Jon Locklar of Indiana; and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and one sister, Glenda Johnson.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Alzheimer's Association.

I was saddened when my brother, Ray, told me of Marguerite's passing. Growing up next door to you, I remember she was so beautiful. I still have photographs of a long time ago but the memories are still fresh in my mind. My condolences and prayers are with your entire family.
