Marianne Bean, age 90 of Chillicothe passed away on Wednesday, July 19, 2017 at Health Care Center in Chillicothe.
Marianne was born on June 6, 1927 in Peoria the daughter to George W. and Florence J. (Thuthill) Fleetwood. She married Jack E. Bean on November 7, 1946 in Chillicothe. He preceded her in death on November 4, 1978.
Surviving are her two daughters: Terry (Steven) Mills of Chillicothe and Tracey Beckner of Chillicothe; three grandchildren: Jennifer (Terry) Batson of Chillicothe, Aaron (Valorie) Mills of Chillicothe, and Matthew (Anna) Beckner of Holly; and eight great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
Marianne started her career teaching in a one room school house near Chillicothe. She then worked as a Clerk for Dunlap Jewelers and put together window displays for JCPenney's in Chillicothe.
Marianne was a Charter member of the Chillicothe Historical Society, Lifetime member of the VFW Auxiliary Post 4999 and she played cards with the Friday afternoon Bridge Club. She was also a member of the Village Players, which is now the Chillicothe Summer Theater. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Chillicothe.
Marianne loved reading her mystery books and crossword puzzles. She also loved spending time with her great grandchildren and going to their activities.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, July 24, 2017 at 11:00 AM at Weber-Hurd Funeral Home in Chillicothe. Rev. Ron Martz will officiate. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service time at the funeral home. Burial will be held in the Chillicothe City Cemetery. Memorials may be made to EasterSeals-Autism Services.
