Mary Lindquist Obituary

Mary Kay Lindquist
PEORIA - Mary Kay (Cook) Lindquist, formerly of Peoria, was blessed with freedom from her battle with kidney disease on Tuesday, June 19, 2018.
Throughout her life she had navigated a myriad of physical ailments that will now have no place in her eternity. However, those ailments did not keep her from loving with her whole heart and making light of life's troubles. Mary blessed those around her with the freedom to be themselves without judgment. She would often say, "Whatever floats your boat!," which we all know meant that she was going to love us whether she agreed with us or not.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Donald and Madonna Cook; and her grandparents.
Free to keep her memory alive are her husband of nearly 39 years (June 23, 1979), Scott Lindquist of Orlando, FL; her honorary daughter and granddaughters, Frida Gilman, Gabriella and Isabelle Gilman of Orlando, FL; her siblings, Joyce (Terry) Kohlbuss of Brimfield, IL, Jerry (Nancy) Cook of East Peoria, IL, Alan Cook of Pekin, Karen Cook of West Peoria; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and lifelong friends.
An informal gathering for family and friends to honor Mary Kay Lindquist will be held at Avanti's in East Peoria on Sunday, July 1, from 3 to 6 p.m.
