CHILLICOTHE - Michael J. Wiegand, 57, of Chillicothe died at 10:34 p.m. Saturday, April 25, 2015, at Heritage Manor in Chillicothe.
Michael was born on Oct. 17, 1957, in Peoria, a son of Raymond and Francis (Belsley) Wiegand.
He is survived by his sister, Phyllis (Dale) Call of Edelstein; his nieces, Brenda (Jim) Kelly of Chillicothe and Diane (Dave) Pfanschmidt of Peoria; his nephews, Dale "Ted" (Wendy) Call Jr. of Edelstein and Edward (Kari Smith) Call of Chillicothe; an aunt, Dorothy Ginzel of Eureka; his uncle, Richard (Betty) Wiegand of Fairbury; and numerous great-nieces and nephews and great-great-nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Franklin McCall.
Michael was a member of the Apostolic Christian Church. He was a bold witness for his faith and he loved being around people.
Michael never knew a stranger and enjoyed traveling.
He packaged parts for Community Workshop Training Center (CWTC) for eight years.
He was a fan of all Chicago sports teams, especially the Cubs.
Also, a special thank you to Michael's caregiver, Kari Smith, for all her tender love and care.
A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. today, April 29, 2015, at the Apostolic Christian Church in Peoria. Church ministers will officiate. A visitation was held from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, April 28, at The Wilton Mortuary in Peoria, and will be from 9 to 9:45 a.m., prior to service today, April 29, at the church. Burial will follow at the Apostolic Christian Cemetery in Edwards.
Memorial donations can be made to CWTC or Apostolic Christian Skylines Benevolent Fund.
