Michaleen Hawkins Obituary

PEORIA - Ms. Michaeleen "Mike" B. Hawkins, 68, of Frederick, Md., formerly of Peoria, passed away Sunday, Nov. 1, 2015 at her home.

Born Sept. 15, 1947, in Peoria, she was the daughter of the late Ted and Eloise Hurt.

Mike most recently worked as a bookkeeper.

She was a loving mother and grandmother who enjoyed spending time with her family and always giving back. Mike was also an avid animal lover.

She is survived by her children, Jeffery Pender and wife, Kindra, of Illinois, and Rachel Geisbert and husband, Paul of Frederick, Md.; grandchildren, Taylor Green, Tanner Green, Braeden Pender, Caylen Pender, Dailee Pender, Matthew Geisbert and Mackenzie Geisbert; sister, Sharon Engle of Illinois; and two nephews, Rick and John Holt.

She was preceded in death by her sister, Donna Tuttle and two nephews.

A memorial service will be held in her honor on Tuesday, Nov. 10, 2015, from 4 to 10 p.m. at Schooners, 630 W. Jackson St., Morton, IL 61550.

Memorial contributions may be made to your local animal shelter.
