PEORIA - Patrick "Pat" Edward Heffron, 80, of Peoria passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, at his home, on Saturday, February 20, 2021.
Pat was born on October 28, 1940, in Peoria to Patrick LeRoy and Mary (Mudd) Heffron. He married the love of his life, Darlene Joyce Taft, in 1973. She survives.
Pat is also survived by his son, Mark (Ellen) Marjanovich; daughter, Sandy (Marjanovich) Carnes of Peoria; brother, Charles Benassi of Lincoln, CA; sisters, Shirley Duncan and Sandra Wormsman, both of Peoria; four nieces; one nephew; eleven grandchildrenl and thirteen great-grandchildren…and counting.
Pat was preceded in death by his daughter, Laura (Marjanovich) Lasher; and sister, Molly Ann (Benassi) LeBell.
Pat served honorably in the U.S. Army from 1958-1964. He was foundryman at CAT Mapleton from 1972 until his retirement in 1999.
Pat was a selfless man; his remarkable generosity leaves a lasting mark on all of those he loved. His wit and humor will be impossible to replace, but the stories he told will live forever. He will be missed tremendously and never forgotten.
Services will be held at Resurrection Mausoleum Chapel on Thursday, February 25, 2021, beginning with visitation at 9 a.m., followed by a funeral service at 10 a.m. The Reverend John Hopwood will officiate.
