Randy Whitman Obituary
East Peoria - Randy L. Whitman, 54, of East Peoria, Ill., passed away Tuesday, Dec. 31, 2013.
He was born Oct. 31, 1959, in Peoria, Ill., to Frankie and Mary (Starcevic) Whitman. He married Monica Roberson on Feb. 15, 1985.
Randy was a painter for Vogue Painting in Peoria, Ill., for 16 years.
He loved football. Randy played during high school at Manual in Peoria and coached J.F.L. teams in East Peoria.
During his free time, he loved to fish, play golf and support organizations such as the South Side Mission.
Surviving are his wife, Monica Whitman of East Peoria, Ill.; daughter, Courtney (Jaime) Marquez of Woodridge, Ill.; grandson, Jaime Marquez III; stepson, Joshua James (Mindy) Baggott of East Peoria, Ill.; stepgranddaughter, Tinley Jo Baggott; his brother, Brad Whitman of Chicago, Ill.; and sister, Lisa Whitman of Philadelphia, Pa.
Randy was preceded in death by his parents.
A memorial visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. today, Jan. 3, 2014, at Schmidt-Haller Burial and Cremation Services, 1625 Candletree Drive, Peoria, IL 61614. Cremation rites will be accorded.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family.

Dear Whitman Family, Randy painted nearly every room in our home over the past 13 years and we really enjoyed every time he was over....we talked about his family, football, and God. We will truly miss him and are so sorry for your loss...may your wonderful memories help provide comfort to you all.

My heart goes out to the family of Randy. Not only my coach for many years in JFL, but my mentor and friend. He taught me not only to be a winner on the football field but also in life. And through his coaching, he lead us to several undefeated seasons. He will be deeply missed.

Words fall short of expressing my sorrow for your loss. He had that personality that you cannot explain. I talked to him a year ago and it was as if I was talking to the same old Randy from high school. Many people fade from your memory but Randy had always left an impression on me. He will truly be missed. Randy is in a better place. God be with you all, and may he comfort you with this sad time in your life.
