Richard Graham Obituary

Richard "Dick" Graham
PRINCEVILLE – Richard "Dick" Graham, 86, of Peoria, formerly of Princeville and Wyoming, passed away at 1:15 p.m. Sunday, May 3, 2020, at Apostolic Christian Skylines in Peoria, IL where he was lovingly cared for.
Dick was born on November 16, 1933 in Kewanee, IL, to Earl and Alice Saul Graham. At age 12, he went to live with Nick and Gladys Knobloch who became his forever family. He married Jeanette Rumbold on September 27, 1959, in Princeville. She preceded him in death on December 8, 2016.
Surviving are five sons, Bruce (Pam) of Peoria, Brent (Deb) of Edwards, Blake (Rachel) of Princeville, Brandon of Peoria, and Ben "BJ" (Suzanne) Graham of Carmel, IN; three daughters, Doreen (Jerry) Leuthold of Fishers, IN, Darlene (Roger) Herrmann of Laura, and Deanne (Jay) Knobloch of Edelstein. He was blessed with 30 grandchildren whom he lovingly called "kid" and six great-grandchildren, all of whom he loved dearly. He was preceded in death by an infant granddaughter, Jayla. His Graham siblings are, Gene (Maria), Jack, Louis, Robert, Don (Addie), Ruth Ann, Jerry, Doug, Judy, Annie, Linda, and Carol. His Knobloch siblings are Dave (Judy), Marsha (Alan), Cindy (Dennis), Keith (Lisa), Ronnie, and Ken.
Dick served his Lord, his family, and many others faithfully. His favorite things were mission trips, painting for others, and spending time with his family. He was full of life and lived it unselfishly. He rarely complained and was content with the circumstances life brought his way. He was a farmer for many years and later owned Graham Painting. He volunteered many places using his paintbrush but mostly sharing his laughter and fun. In addition to loving his own children very well, he also loved any children that entered his home. He served on the Wyoming Grade School Board for 20 years. He served as a medic in the United States Army and was able to experience an Honor Flight in 2017.
A vehicle visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 6, 2020 at the Princeville Apostolic Christian Church Fellowship Hall. Dick Graham family,
This is a day we selfishly didn't want to come but it is a tremendous victory for Dick, your dad, grandfather, and great grandfather. How we cherish the times we were privileged to be with him whether in Mexico, Jamaica, or some other place in the world. It all seems like yesterday. His advise was always interesting especially how to clean paint brushes or how to stucco a house in Mexico. He never did accomplish the challenge to bring everything home that he took. He always left clothes or tools, but most of all he left a part of his heart that he had for God. We deeply loved him and cherish the memories.
Also a special Thank You to all of you for taking Monte into your homes and families the summer he lived with you. It was a special time for him and we thank you all for your love.
In deepest sympathy,
Bill & Erma Gerber

We want to extend our sympathies to all the family. We admired Dick's spirit of sacrifice as he demonstrated it through mission work and using his skills and talents locally whenever he saw a need. One special memory I had occurred on the Peoria Honor Light. By coincidence Dick and Brent were on the same flight I accompanied a veteran. Dick was an inspiration to us and we will miss him. We are thankful that he is now free from his earthly afflictions and Home with his Heavenly Father.

Mike and I are so sorry to hear this sad news about Richard. We were so close to the entire family and think the world will never be the same. We were neighbors of theirs back in the Ol' South Side days!!! (Insert Laughter) There was never a more wonderful family than theirs. Our families actually met back in the Zeller days.
When Mike and I were separated and I lived in Jacksonville, Fl they were my lifeline. Now we are back together basking in the light of the Lord. How time has flown by!

I offer comfort to the family by quoting Exodus 7 Verse 9. Page 712, For they who go to be with me if you be good you may too

Rise in peace knowing that they will always be remain in our hearts and minds.

We remember Uncle Harvey, Uncle Jack, Uncle Herb, Uncle Rolland, Uncle Mickey, Aunt Vicky, Aunt Lorraine, Aunt Corrine, Aunt Esther, Aunt Emily, and Aunt Lucy.
We also think of brothers Jim, Bob, Rick. Mike, Paul, Steve, Robert, Gill, Stephen, Ron and Steve along with the sisters, Barb, Gail, Sue, Kathy, Jean, Wanda and Leona.

Be strong at this difficult and please remember we are here for you. We will pray for you asking for comfort at this difficult time. Please call us if there is anything we can do, after, we are the Noels!!!
As I sat this morning looking out the window I saw a little butterfly and how fleeting life is. We sang, we laughed, we cried, we walked, we talked, we ran, we stumbled, we fell and we always got up. We were inseparable friends who had only each other. When I was in Jacksonville, FL you were my lifeline to back home. You were my only contact to keep abreast of what was happening with my dear husband Mike. Flowers blossom, trees sprout, roses bloom as did our wonderful friendship. We shared happiness, sorrow, glee, disappointment, anger, joy, love and hate. The passage of time does not erase the vacancy in my heart. Time heals but in a lifetime I will never get over losing you, our friendship and all the other things we shared. I remember talking about our old friends from Manual High School and how we would giggle and laugh. Laughter, love and memories are what held us together and keeps us going. Bless you, dear friend and soul mate. Mike and Sue Noel, Peoria, IL

To the Graham and Knobloch family very nicely and complete obituary for Dick.Memories Of spending time together picking up sticks in the mud after the riverbottom went out. Rooming together in Honduras on missions trip spending time on lock down in our room because we both got sick. Painting having sweet fellowship talking about Gods love for us and others. Visiting him earlier this year Dick not able to talk but laughed and smiled during our conversation. Vickie and I will miss him. Eating together with him mom and Ike at the home.
