Ronald Anderson Obituary

Ronald L. Anderson
GERMANTOWN HILLS - Ronald L. Anderson, 64, of Germantown Hills, IL, passed away at 7 a.m. on Tuesday, January 2, 2018, at his home.
He was born on April 23, 1953, to Clarence L. and Geneva (Williamson) Anderson in Peoria, IL. He married Jeanette Virgil on March 5, 1983, in Tazewell County.
Surviving are his wife; one son, Caleb L. (Colleen) Anderson of Germantown Hills; one daughter, Elizabeth Anderson of Germantown Hills; one sister, Kay (Jim) Druin of East Peoria; five brothers-in-law; three sisters-in-law; sixteen nieces and nephews; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Jay Anderson; and mother and father in-law, Valarie and Eugene Virgil.
Ron was a sales manager in grocery retail and wholesale in Peoria for 37 years, retiring in 2012. He was a member of Faith Evangelical Free Church in Metamora, where he was a Deacon, Sunday School teacher and nursery worker. He was a volunteer softball, baseball, basketball and soccer coach for his children, as well as Assistant Cub Scout Pack leader.
Ron was a wonderful Christian man who loved his wife and spending time with his family and his dogs. He loved Jesus and walked in His footsteps every day. Ron loved to study the Bible, play guitar, watch the Los Angeles Dodgers and play video games. He lived a life of service to God and to his friends and family. He welcomed all people into his life, never judging, only offering support and love. His patience, kindness, calming presence and giving heart will be missed by all who knew him.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, January 6, 2018, at Faith Evangelical Free Church in Metamora, with Pastor Dan Leman officiating. Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. on Friday, January 5, 2018, at Mason Funeral Home Germantown Hills Chapel. Cremation rites will be accorded after his service.
Memorials may be given to Faith Evangelical Free Church, 1337 Lourdes Road, Metamora, IL 61548; or the American Cancer Society, Central Illinois Chapter, 4234 North Knoxville Avenue, Suite B, Peoria, IL 61614.

So sad to hear about Mr. Andersons passing. We got to know him a bit through the church we both attended. A very nice man indeed! We are glad that he knew his Savior. Our condolences go out to his wife and children and we pray for God's comfort and strength during this difficult time.

Stable, strong, admirable, merciful, faithful, loving are just a few of the characteristics I think of as remember my brother-in-law. More than a brother-in-law though, I thought of Ron as a brother, a wonderful father to Caleb and Liz and loving husband to my sister. Ron was a friend that you could count on, truly a wonderful man. I feel very sad that you are gone. I thank God that suffering is no longer part of your life. Faith and Hope are my witnesses that we will all be reunited one day. (1Cor :54) Thank you Ron for your strength and faith in God that you have demonstrated through the years! I love you and miss you!

Papa,
If there is anyone in this world I would want to be like, it would be you. I will spend the rest of my days being kind, forgiving, patient, and lovingto be more like you. You fought for years to survive, and you did it so gracefully. Thank you for teaching me to do what is right, even when it is hard. And for teaching me that life is about giving, loving, and supporting... and to expect nothing in return. To not judge, but instead understand. Earth has lost an amazing man, but Heaven has gained one of His strongest soldiers. I, your daughter, am
so proud to call you my father. You will always be my best friend. Love you papa.
