WASHINGTON - Ronald Elliott Kuykendall, 66, of Washington passed away early Wednesday, Dec. 7, 2011, in St. Louis, Mo.
Ron was born on May 24, 1945, in Peoria to Elmer and Dorothy Bond Kuykendall.
Among those surviving are a nephew, Jeff (Larissa) Kuykendall of Groveland and a sister-in-law, Ellie Kuykendall of Morton.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Gary Kuykendall; and one sister, Doris Moore.
Ron had worked for Caterpillar for more than 33 years prior to his retirement. For Caterpillar, Ron worked in the Tech Center and Demonstration Area.
A veteran of the U.S. Army, Ron served his country in Vietnam.
He was a proud member of VFW Walker Danforth Post No. 9016 in Washington.
A memorial gathering will be held from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 18, 2011, at the VFW Post. Graveside military rites will be accorded at 10 a.m. Monday, Dec. 19, 2011, at Camp Butler National Cemetery in Springfield. Cremation rites have been accorded.
