Stan Budzinski Obituary

Stan Budzinski
PEORIA - Stan Budzinski, 64, of Peoria, Illinois, entered peacefully into eternal life on Saturday, October 7, 2017, at the OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice House, surrounded by his loving family.
Stan was born on July 25, 1953, to Leonard and Bernice (Bill) Budzinski in Peoria. He married Karen Levine on July 10, 1976.
Stan is survived by his wife, Karen; son, Paul (Carrie) Budzinski; daughter, Colleen (Michael Quartuch) Budzinski; grandsons, Zachary, Owen, Ryan and Ryker; brother, Ron (Cheryl) Budzinski; mother-in-law, Ann (Watson) Levine; and a host of in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Stan was preceded in death by his parents; niece, Tricia Budzinski; father-in-law, Earl Levine; and beloved dog, Maggie.
Stan was a graduate of Spalding Institute (1971) and Western University (1974). He worked at Caterpillar for 35 years in human resources and retired in 2009. He proudly served the Peoria Park District as a trustee from 1995-2007. He was a member of Cursillo #91 and, more recently, a member of the Secular Franciscans. Stan was also a Eucharistic Minister for both OSF Saint Francis and UnityPoint Health-Methodist.
Stan was a diehard St. Louis Cardinals fan and proud to be named after "Stan the Man" Musial. Stan loved life and especially enjoyed playing a good round of golf, laughing with family and friends and going to the ocean for vacation. Stan was a man of great faith and devoted Catholic. He was a member of Saint Philomena Catholic Church in Peoria.
Stan requested that cremation rites be accorded and to not have a traditional visitation. To honor Stan's wishes and in remembrance, the family welcomes all those who knew Stan to join in a memorial Mass at 10:30 a.m. at St. Philomena on Friday, October 13, 2017, and family will greet guests, immediately following at Saint Philomena Parish Center.
Memorials can be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or Saint Philomena Parish.

Karen and Family - Char and I were so sorry to hear of Stan's passing. He was a good man and a good Peoria Park District Trustee. Having served with him on the Park Board I know he had a positive influence on the management of the district.
With sympathy and friendship, Roger and Char Allen.

So very sorry to hear about Stan. We worked together for many years facilitating the Imagine 21 program from the Pacific Institute at Cat. I had never seen someone so passionate about the subject matter as Stan. We even went out and took it into the Catholic and other area school systems. He set a very high bar and example. Our prayers are with your family. God bless.

Karen and family - I am saddened to hear of Stan's passing. I know he fought this horrible disease as long as he could and is now at peace. We had such fun working together at Cat. May your many happy memories bring smiles to your faces during this very difficult time. I'm sorry I will not be able to attend his memorial (Terry and I are out of town until the end of the month). But I will remember him in my prayers and especially at Mass this Sunday.

I had the privilege of getting to know Stan when he helped run a 21 keys program for St. Mark School. He brought so much energy and warmth to his work and was a role model in his faith. I'm grateful to have known him. My prayers and condolences.

On behalf of all the Secular Franciscans of the Franciscans of the Prairie Regional Fraternity, Therese and I offer our deepest condolences to Stan's family and the sisters and brothers of Sacred Heart Secular Franciscan Fraternity, Peoria. All of us were truly inspired by the way in which Stan so enthusiastically embraced and lived his vocation as a Franciscan. May he now enjoy eternal peace in the company of Saints Francis and Clare and all the Saints!

I'm sorry for your loss. Stan lived next door to my sister and I for a few years, probably grade school. I remember him as being a nice kid. Think he taught my sister how to ride a skate board. Chris (Bowermaster) Bridges
