WASHINGTON - Our precious little princess Stella Capri Wilson of Washington passed away on Saturday, June 20, 2009, at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria.
She has become our guardian angel.
For having lived only 3 short years, her life overfilled our hearts with memories to last a lifetime. She came into this world a fighter. Her poor little heart was so broken, but the dedication of the staff at the Children's Hospital of Illinois and the love of family and friends made Stella our miracle. She was strong, loving, and full of life until the end.
Stella was unconditionally loved by her parents, Zach and Cara Wilson of Washington, Ill., and adored by her big sister, Luci. The two of them were inseparable. Any one who was blessed enough to see the two of them together, saw the innocent love and unbreakable loyalty of sisterhood.
We wish we could mention all the lives that have been touched by Stella. She has her proud grandparents, Jerry and Jobie Wilson of Havana, Ill., Mary Jo and Shelby Magee of Astoria, Ill., and Chester Bertolli of Roswell, Ga. Loved ones who spoiled her rotten, Uncles Bo Roddis of Lewistown, Ill., T.J. Wilson of Girard, Ill., Michael Bertolli of Kennesaw, Ga., and Chris Bertolli of St. Petersburg, Fla.; Aunt Kristine Osburn of Kennesaw, Ga., and Kathleen Crosby. Cousins Nate, Tanner and Cooper were always the best playmates. Stella could swing on a swing set for hours and loved to ride her bike beside Luci for miles. All her best friends at Bree's Day Care will miss her goofy faces and her impeccable dress-up style.
Her voice was quiet and her manner shy, but her sweet smile and beautiful blue eyes made her an easy friend. Stella's kind and gentle soul will live within us forever. Having Stella be part of our lives made each of us a better person.
If you wish to carry on her generous heart, please feel free to make a donation to Make a Wish Foundation of Illinois, 640 N. Lasalle Drive, Suite 280, Chicago, IL 60654 or T.O.U.C.H. at 515 NE Glen Oak, Suite 202, Peoria, IL 61603.
Services for Stella will be on Thursday, June 25, at 11 a.m. at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria. Visitation will be held today, June 24, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be in the Astoria Cemetery.

I know how hard this must be, it broke my heart to hear about Stella. She was your baby girl and I know how much you love her, I love her too. She will be missed greatly by all of the hearts she has touched in her short life; I am blessed to be one of them. I miss you three and wish that you will let me be a part of your healing.
Love you so much!

To the Wilson Family-
You may not know me, but I live right across the street from Jerry and Jobie. I can't say that I know your Stella well, but there have been many times that I have seen her from across the street playing, smiling, and laughing. I wanted you to know that the joy that she portrayed, simply from across the street, gave joy to my heart too. She's a beautiful little girl, and I know for a fact that she gave joy to many, many more people; people you may not even know. Your entire family has been in my prayers, and will continue to be. Just remember the everlasting joy that your little girl brought to so many people.

To the family of Stella Wilson. Stella is still with you. People think that death is the end of our lives, death is only the beginning of our lives forever with Jesus. Never again to be separated. May God bless you with His strength and Love as you go through this difficult time. Children are God's greatest gift to us.

Cara and Zach -
We met you and Stella for the first time at a t-ball game just a few weeks ago, and were so smitten by Stella's adorable face and sweet manner. She was beyond beautiful! When we heard the story of all she'd been through with her heart problems as an infant, we agreed that she was - and still IS your "miracle baby." Our hearts ache for you, and for her sister, and we will continue to keep you all foremost in our thoughts and prayers.
