EAST PEORIA - "Bill" William Doering, 68, of East Peoria passed away Wednesday, Nov. 10, 2010, at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria.
He was born on Nov. 11, 1941, to Bill & Virginia Doering of Peoria. He married Debbie M. Baker in Pekin on Oct. 1, 1977.
She survives, along with one daughter, Suzanne (Michael) Vanderham of East Peoria; and one stepson, Jeffery (Patty) McGuire of Astoria. He is also survived by a sister, Irene; a brother, Kay; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one son, Robert Doering-Jolly.
He worked for Caterpillar Inc. for 30 years in both the shop and office at the Morton facility before retiring in 1993.
Earlier in his life, Bill enjoyed fishing and hunting, along with years of camping in Avon, Ill.
A Scripture service will be at 10 a.m. Monday, Nov. 15, at Remmert Funeral Home in East Peoria. Father Patrick O'Neal will officiate. Visitation will be from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Cremation rites will be accorded. Burial of ashes will be at a later date in Browning, Ill.
