PEORIA - Zona Emily Fragel, 91, of Peoria passed away Thursday, Sept. 24, 2015, at UnityPoint Health-Methodist in Peoria.
Zona was born to Raymond E. and Helen J. Burgess Cullison on June 13, 1924, in Macon, Ill. She graduated from the Illinois School for the Deaf in Jacksonville, and married Harold J. Fragel of Peoria on Aug. 27, 1946.
Surviving are her son, Ted (Mary) Fragel of Peoria; daughter, Susie (Steven) Larson of Chillicothe; two grandsons; two great-granddaughters; one stepgrandson; brother, Lyle (Beverly) Cullison of Irving, Texas; brother, Noel (Barb) Cullison of Phoenix, Ariz.; sister-in-law, Virginia Burdett of Pekin; and many nieces and nephews.
Zona was preceded in death by her husband, Harold; three sisters, Janet Christian, Elinor Kirkwood and Lois Hutson; brother, Andrew Cullison; and longtime companion, Robert O'Heron.
A gathering of her friends and family will be held in the chapel at St. Francis Woods in Peoria on Wednesday, Oct. 7, 2015, from 6 to 7:30 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
