Born in Staten Island, N.Y., she was the daughter of the late Anthony and Agnes Mijecki.
Mrs. Nilsen had lived in Blairstown, N.J., for 10 years before moving to East Stroudsburg four years ago. She was a homemaker who loved gardening and reading.
Mrs. Nilsen was predeceased by her husband, Edward in 1978. She is survived by a son, Edward "Ward" Nilsen of Staten Island, N.Y.; a daughter, Linda Brennan of Lafayette, N.J.; three grandchildren: Christine Brennan, Keith Brennan and Chandelle Hart; a brother, Retired Colonel Jack Mijecki of Niceville, Fla.; a sister, Betty Burrell of Toms River, N.J.; and three great grandchildren.
