He was a native of the Pocono Mountains, born May 5, 1944, to Marie Doll Mager Hardy of East Stroudsburg and the late Paul Mager.
He was a former mechanic and musician with the Southern Cross Band and attended Cannonsburg Nazarene Church in Kentucky.
Also to cherish his memories are his wife, Patricia Kernes Mager of Ashland, Ky.; his children, Shane Mager of Georgetown, Ky.; Bill Mager of Ashland, Ky.; Freddie Mager of Georgetown, Ky.; and Shelley Mager Clifford of Cynthiana, Ky., with their mother and step-dad, Sandy and Jerry Sageser of Cynthiana, Ky.
Also, step-son Brian Kearns and step-daughter Dusty Mager will cherish memories as well.
Other siblings are a brother, Wes Mager of Reeders; a sister, Waanie Fletcher of Las Vegas, Nev.; two nieces and one nephew; eight grandchildren and a host of many friends, aunts, uncles and cousins. He is predeceased by a nephew, Michael Mager.
Danny was a certified top-notch mechanic and a country-western musician who wrote his own music.
His latest CD was all Gospel called Daddy's Prayer.
In 1979, he appeared in Nashville, Tenn., and performed with Kitty Wells and Little Jimmy Dickens.
His music career began in 1965 in the Pocono Mountains of Pennsylvania.
In his spare time he enjoyed fishing, hunting, woodworking and making others laugh with his entertaining sense of humor.
We know you are in the very best of care, walking with Jesus, resting from your frequent hospital trips, pains and sufferings, which gives us blessed consolation to know everything is in God's hands.
We love and miss you and one day will meet you by the River.
A gathering of family and friends to celebrate his life was held at Swick Funeral Home in Wheelersburg, Ohio, with services officiated by his son, Fredrick Mager. Burial was in Green Township Junior Furnace Cemetery in Portsmouth, Ohio.
