Dear Annelle, Doug, Cheryl and Jerry,
Words don't always help when we loose someone so special in our lives. Uncle Doug will be sorely missed by so many people who were fortunate to have known him or blessed enough {like me} to have had him as an uncle. I loved all of my fathers' brothers and sister, but Uncle Doug was one of my favorites. It was wonderful seeing all of the extended family on Sunday 5/28. To all of my cousins-Keep the FAITH.
Love, Peace and God Bless to All

Dear Shook Family:
I have spent the last six years living in the same area as Doug, Jr. As was always the case when we were young in EBurg, we continue to have many laughs and enjoy our time together. I am very thankful that our friendship is strong. I am deeply saddened for Doug Jr. and his family and the entire Shook family. My prayer for you and your family is "peace of mind". The tears you shed are the healthiest you may ever have. Pray for patience for yourself as you all adapt to the transitions you will go through. My prayers and thoughts are with all of you.

Dear Annelle, Doug Jr., Cheryl & Jerry,
We are so very saddened by the death of Uncle Doug. Growing up on the West coast, I didn't get a chance to get to know you all very well, but the last few years I have had a great time emailing Uncle Doug and Annelle and trading photos. Please know that you all are in our thoughts and prayers as you go through this difficult time.
Love, Genie and Dick

Doug was a wonderful classmate and friend. He was always kind, gentle, and very funny.
It was because of Doug that we had our last class reunion in 2002. Through his emails and his requests we were able to organize our reunion; we all enjoyed ourselves that night.
Now, it is time to plan another reunion;we will miss him, but he will always be in our hearts.

My father was the best dad to his sons and daughters and he didn't have to be. Cheryl and Jerry will understand. After my mother died we spent alot of time together and I told him that he had become my best friend. He replied that he always had been. I'll miss him forever.

Dear Annelle,Cheryl,Doug,& Jerry
I am so very sorry for your loss. Uncle Doug was one of my Pop's brothers I had an opportunity to really get to know. He was such a genuine person and will be deeply missed.
I will always remember him dancing like he was 20 at my wedding two years ago and emailing the funniest jokes.
Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

My dad was the greatest man I have ever known, of course we all say that! He was so devoted to his family and loved us all dearly. Most men would want to be the man he didn't have to be. I will forever miss him. He is with my mother once again, where he always wanted to be.

To the family of Douglas Shook and all his dear friends, The special things about Doug will live on in your hearts forever. Please know my sorrow for his loss. May all of you find peace and strength with each passing day.
I only shared a small part of Doug's life, but there is a tremendous void in my heart. Doug was my Gentle Giant. A very precious man is gone, a kind, soft, caring soul. Now there is no time to share our small talk or say our final good bye. The fond memories will always be with me. We had a special time in a special place....his voice I loved is still. God bless you Douglas.
THe kindest husband, father,and POP!

Art and I are so sorry to hear of the loss of your father. We are also sorry to read that your mother has also passed.
It seems so long ago, now thinking back, when we were neighbors with them. I still remember the visits with Annelle on our front porch, and all the friendly over the fence conversations with your parents. Boy, your mom stayed busy mowing their backyard with that electric lawnmower.
To go back even further, I remember the first time I met your mom and dad there on Ridgeway St.
We will always have fond memories of them both.
Again, we're sorry for your loss.
