Edward R. Newberry, 83, of Blind River, Ontario, Canada, died Monday, April 10, at home. He was the husband of the late Dorothy E. Newberry who died on March 30, 1978.
Born on Oct. 7, 1922, in Trenton, N.J., he was the son of the late Fredrick and Jane Fair Newberry and lived in Canada for the past 22 years, moving from Pennsylvania.
A veteran of World War II, he served in the United States Army.
He is survived by a son, Terry Newberry and his wife, Barbara, of Reeders; a daughter, Tammy Sasaki and her husband, Don, of Portland, Ore.; three grandchildren, Jeremy Newberry, Jennifer Newberry and Kestley Sasaki; and two great-grandchildren, Brittany Setzer and Michael Phillips.
A viewing and funeral services were held on Thursday, April 20, at the Menard Funeral Home, Blind River, Ontario. Graveside services and burial will be at 10 a.m. on Saturday, April 29, at Laurelwood Cemetery in Stroudsburg.
