George E. MacIntosh, 70, of Effort, Chestnuthill Township, died on Friday, July 21, at Pocono Medical Center in East Stroudsburg.
Born on July 4, 1936, in Brooklyn, N.Y., he was a son of Jean Tampellini MacIntosh of Hightstown, N.J., and the late Robert MacIntosh.
He was last employed as a mechanic for T.J. Lipton Company in Flemington, N.J., for 13 years. Prior to that, he worked for Johnson & Johnson and the Rockwell Company in Hopewell, N.J.
He was a 1954 graduate of Princeton High School. He always had an interest in model airplanes and in his earlier years, he liked to build them.
He was an excellent furniture refinisher, an avid Mets fan and also loved to go fishing.
He was an Army veteran of the Korean Conflict, serving in the military police in Hawaii. He liked to read, especially about World War II.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, the former Shirley Bray Horvath with whom he celebrated 25 years of marriage in March; two daughters, Jean Maze James of New Hope and Roberta MacIntosh David Delgado of Ewing, N.J.; a granddaughter, Alexandra Maze; four stepsons, Rick Janice Horvath of Marshalls Creek, Dennis Horvath of Hellertown, Troy Horvath of Finesville, N.J., and Jeffrey Horvath of Effort; a stepdaughter, Sherry Walter Bonstein, of Easton; many step-grandchildren; and many stepgreat-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, July 26, at The Robert W. Snyder Funeral Home, 327 Easton Road, Riegelsville. There will be no calling hours.

Dear Shirley, My thoughts and prayers are with you at this time. I didn't really know George that well, but through our many talks at the store I felt like I did know him.
