Born on Sept. 21, 1919, in Berlin, Germany, she was the daughter of the late Johann and Gertrud (Meier) Schultz.
Martha was the best mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother anyone could ask for. She dedicated her lifetime to her family. Moving to Pennsylvania from Germany in December 1960, she worked as a housekeeper for Mount Airy Lodge for 23 years. She was an exceptional gardener and dog lover. It is especially noted that she loved her pets Snickers, Missy and Buttons.
Martha was of the Lutheran faith. She will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved her.
Surviving are one daughter, Gisela Miller and son-in-law, Peter S. Miller Jr., both of Stroudsburg; one stepdaughter, Kerstin Scherniko and her husband, Dr. Ulrich of Berlin, Germany; one stepson, Rainer Hildebrandt of Berlin, Germany; one granddaughter, Monica Schaller and her husband, Steven, of Stroudsburg; one grandson, Marco Marsh and his wife, Debra, of Stroudsburg; and five great-grandchildren, Michael Marsh, Katherine Marsh, Daniel Marsh, Brandon Breihof, and Peter Breihof. Martha was predeceased by two brothers; and one sister.
A graveside memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 11, at Prospect Cemetery, East Stroudsburg. Burial will directly follow the committal services.
There will be no visitation.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to Monroe County Chapter of the American Cancer Society, RR 2 Box 2138, Stroudsburg, PA 18360.
