Paul Zerby Obituary

Paul A. Zerby Sr., 81, of East Stroudsburg passed away in his home on Friday, Aug. 22. He was the beloved husband of the late Ruth (Sauers) Zerby.

Born in Gorden on June 26, 1922, he was the son of the late Albert and Edith Zerby.

Paul served his country from 1940 to 1946 in the U.S. Navy. He was a veteran of Pearl Harbor and received a Pacific Theater Ribbon (one star), Defense Ribbon (one star), American Theater Ribbon and Victory Medal.

Fishing and camping were his two favorite activities. He was, above all else, a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, and will be missed dearly by his family and friends.

He is survived by two daughters, Barbara Doheny and her husband, William, of Hellertown, and JoAnne Zerby of East Stroudsburg; and four sons, David A. Zerby and his wife, Terri, of Bath, Paul A. Zerby Jr. and his wife, Rustie, of Croydon, Rodney Zerby and his wife, Susan, of Doylestown, and Keith A. Zerby and his wife, Donna, of East Stroudsburg;. Sixteen grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Edith Skocik of Malvern and Anna Cadwallador of Southampton; and one brother, Arthur Zerby of Ashland also survive him.

A funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 27, at Lanterman & Allen Funeral Home in East Stroudsburg.

Visitation for family and friends will be held from 2 to 3 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 27, at the funeral home.
