Robert Stevens Obituary

Robert "Bob" Stevens
12/04/2020
Robert "Bob" Stevens, 96 of Bartonsville, died Friday, December 4, 2020 at home. He was the loving husband of the late Dorothy "June" Stevens, who passed away in 2018.
Born in Oneonta, New York, he was a son of the late Ward and Pauline (Hitt) Stevens.
Bob and June married and settled in Schenectady, New York, where, together, they raised their six children. They eventually moved to Bartonsville, where they had lived for more than 46 years. He was an avid fly fisherman, president of Trout Unlimited for several years where he served as a charter member and past president, and was a stream watcher with the Brodhead Watershed Association.
A proud veteran, Bob served in the United States Army during World War II. He later worked for GE as a chemical engineer and engineer manager.
He is survived by his children: Kristine Savona and her husband, Giuseppe, of Adamstown, Maryland; Ward Stevens and his wife, Lynne, of Stroudsburg; Robert C. Stevens and his wife, Traeci, of Holyoke, Massachusetts; and Melissa Vesce and her husband, Joseph, of Bartonsville; sons-in-law, C. Alan Bush of Easton; Kenneth Schlossberg of Massapequa, New York; 11 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. In addition to his wife, Bob was preceded in death by his daughters, Lauren Bush and Susan Schlossberg.
Father Richard Czachor will celebrate a Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday, December 8 at 11 a.m. at Our Lady of Victory Church, 327 Cherry Lane Road, Tannersville, with a visitation at the church from 10:30 a.m until the time of service. Interment will follow at Forks Church Cemetery, 4500 Sullivan Trail, Stockertown.

One cannot imagine a man as devoted to his family as Bob Stevens. As a son in law married to his 1st born, the late Lauren Stevens Bush, my family, along with families of his other 5 children, his grand and great grandchildren, benefited from this devotion. His love, largess, council, his attention to detail & his engineering preciseness in all his projects defined and delighted our lives with him and Mom Stevens. Eternal Rest, Grant him O Lord....
