Russell E. Miller

Russell "Red" E. Miller, 83, of Tobyhanna, died on Sunday, Nov. 2, at Pocono Medical Center, East Stroudsburg. He was the husband of Joy (Johnson) Miller, to whom he was married for 63 years.

Born in East Stroudsburg, he was the son of Robert E. and Elsie (Gorman) Miller and was a lifelong resident of Monroe County.

He was employed at Beaufab Mills, and he retired as a threader from Redmond Finishing Co., East Stroudsburg.

He was a U.S. Army veteran who served during World War II.

In addition to his wife, Joy, he is survived by six sons, Russell E. Miller Jr. and his companion, Connie Bush, of Stroudsburg, Harold Miller and his wife, Ann, of Henryville, Owen Miller of Tobyhanna, Peter Miller and his companion, Debbie Vechi, of Mount Pocono, Mark Miller of Gouldsboro and Ross Miller of Gouldsboro; a daughter, Patricia Miller Olsen and her husband, Gary, of Henryville; a brother, Roy Miller of East Stroudsburg; six grandchildren, Sherri, Stacy, Michael, Shane, Ashleigh and Skye; two great-grandchildren, Lauren and Drew; and his dog, Buddy.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Elmer Miller.

There will be a viewing from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 5, at the Bolock Funeral Home, corner of routes 940 and 390, Paradise Valley. Cremation is entrusted to the Bolock Funeral Home Crematory.
