Teddy Schreyer Obituary

Teddy A. Schreyer, 70, of East Stroudsburg, passed away on Oct. 11 at his home. He was the husband of Marilyn (Bonamarte) Schreyer.

Born Jan. 2, 1937, in Alberta, Canada, he was the son of the late Victor and Martha (Deering) Schreyer. He was a resident of Monroe County for the past 37 years and, prior to that, of New York state.

Ted was a lifetime logger. Currently, he was a logger here in Monroe County and also owned and operated Schreyer's Sawmill in East Stroudsburg. He also built many log homes around the area.

He was an inventor, creating many one-of-a-kind machines to make his work with wood easier and less wasteful. He was a kind and generous man, always giving help, knowledge, encouragement or anything else he could to help someone.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his three children: Tye Schreyer and his wife, Eleanor, of East Stroudsburg, Gem Cunningham and her husband, Patrick, of Arizona, and Shane Schreyer and his wife, Wendy, of Redding, Calif.; and seven grandchildren.

Ted is also survived by his brother, Gilbert S. Schreyer of Kamloops, British Columbia; his sister, Gretta Fricke of Castlegar, British Columbia; and his half-brother, Ken Day of Courtney, British Columbia; and many nieces and nephews.

There will be no services. Cremation will be private.
