I wish I could have been there, I wish I would have stayed in touch, I wish I could have seen him just one more time...But the one regret I do not have is that I was able to know him, love him and be a part of his family, to be a part of your family.

Even through the years, you all are thought of often. Tom you will be missed, but never forgotten!!!

I know I have already posted a comment, but I have alot to say of my dad. Most of you already know. His greatness, warmth, smile, personality was everything most people would love to have. I used to come home from work and stop at the house every night just to kiss him on his forehead and ruffle his hair. I will forever miss that. I guess I'll have to recruit my mom for that now. I miss my dad more than anything and I will hold him in my heart forever. I love you daddy. I could go on and on. But like I said everyone who knew him already knows.

Pop Tom was a father figure to Keith, Kelly, and I. He was also an awesome grandfather to Ryan and Alex.

When I think of Pop Tom and get sad, Alex says, “mom remember the good times.” I remember the fun times we had growing up in the Pocono’s. Pop Tom taking a gang of kids to the movies or out for ice cream in his pick-up truck. I can still hear him calling me “Bonnie, blue eyes”, even though my eyes are green. He always called Alex his “Buddy”. When Ryan was young he would go fishing for Pop Tom and he would pay him for his catch. Ryan loved that. I remember all the summer picnics at Ida and Toms. We had a blast swimming in the pool, playing volleyball and horseshoes.

Pop Tom will always hold a special place in my heart. I am honored to be his sister-in-law. He will be missed and the Pocono’s will never be the same. We love you Pop Tom!

I remember those days,
Hearing you chopping the wood,
For the fire that kept us warm.

I remember those days,
Seeing you in your orange,
Ready to hunt for the food that fed us.

I remember those days,
Smelling your Sunday breakfasts,
Before going to the church that taught us.

So many things can be said,
About the man that you were.
So many tears will be shed,
In honor of you, my Grampa.

We'll keep you in our hearts,
And on our minds,
Just as you had done for us,
Every second of your life.

Letting go won't be easy,
But we'll meet again, for sure

I will always love you.

---To my Gramma Ida,
Please know, that if you need anything, we're here for you. Thank you both for being the roots of our family and supplying us with everything we have ever needed. We love you so much. Many hugs and kisses.

Dear Dan, Carlene & Anetta:
I know that you will all miss your father very much. He was a very good dad and friend. I am grateful to have had the opportunity to have him in our family, even if it was by marriage to my sister Marjorie Ruth Metzger. I am sure that you will all be together for eternity and that one day you will get to be with your parents again. I am grateful for the wonderful job that Edie has done as your step-mother. She is a special person too. May God give you all comfort and blessings to help you with your loss.
Love forever, Aunt Lois

In My Pocket

I have memories in my pocket.
They rattle among the change.

My memories of you are treasures I carry wherever I go.

They are stored in bits and pieces, parts of a beautiful whole
They give me comfort when I think I am alone.

Yes, I have memories in my pocket, like so much other stuff I keep there.

But of all the treasures I have, it’s the memories of you that are the most precious.

Mr. Neyhart no Mr. Tom,
I will miss the regular visits to the trailer when we are up, looking for dessert. He always knew when the meals were being prepared.
I remember when we were all younger the trips in the back of his pickup to the roller rink or the movies or just to get ice cream. I know now how lucky we were to have had a life that included all the time we spent growing up in the Poconos. Having a neighbor like Tom Neyhart and his family made our little piece of heaven the most magical time for any kid or grown up. The celebrations, happy and sad, the pinochle card games, the apple pie, times out in the butcher shop or the volleyball games and the laughs and there were so many.
I’m honored to have known Mr. Tom all my life and I will miss him as much as I could miss any family member. Rest in Peace.
Love, Renee
