Wilson Riddle Obituary

Wilson D. "Sonny" Riddle, Jr., 61, of Cherry Valley, passed away suddenly on Wednesday afternoon, May 9, while farming in Hamilton Township.

He was the husband of Diane (Kline) Riddle, with whom he shared 34 years of marriage.

Born on Feb. 21, 1946, in Saylorsburg, he was a son of the late Wilson D. and Johanna Henrietta (Maas) Riddle Sr., and lived his whole life in Cherry Valley.

A 1964 graduate of Stroudsburg High School, he was a self-employed farmer and operated equipment for various local companies.

He belonged to the Pocono Old Tyme Tractor Association and was an avid dirt track racer.

Sonny loved racing, farming, four-wheel-drive trucks, tractor pulling and anything outdoors. His desire for farming will hopefully continue.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Chad Riddle and Jeff Riddle, both of Stroudsburg; three grandchildren, Sarah May Riddle, Devon Riddle and Chad Riddle Jr.; two sisters, Lucille Lesoine and Marie Schuler, both of Stroudsburg; and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, May 20, at the Cherry Valley United Methodist Church, Kemmertown Road, Hamilton Township, with the Rev. Samuel Ramnit officiating. Cremation took place at the H.G. Smith Crematory, Stroudsburg.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the family.
