WINTER HAVEN - Dorothy Latifia Nama, 89, of Winter Haven, died Wednesday, April 22, 2015. Dorothy had a great love for God and Jesus Christ and she passed away at home after a long struggle with cancer.
Dorothy was born in Americus, Georgia, June 21, 1925, to Joe and Helen Saliba Nama.
She grew up in Lakeland, FL, and later moved to Atlanta, GA, to work for Warren Bearden, Jr. CLU.
Dottie retired in 1996 and moved back to Florida to be near her family.
She was predeceased by her father, Joe Annic Nama and mother Helen Nama Poole, sisters Annicie Miller and Josephine Ward, brother, Charles Nama, step-sister Elizabeth Poole and step-brother Leonard Poole.
Dorothy is survived by daughter, Patricia Marquis of Surprise, Arizona, sister Mary Jane Chapman, and brother, Bob Nama of Winter Haven, FL, sister in law, Mary Ann Nama, Atlanta GA, and many uncles, nieces and nephews, caregivers Kathy & Don Santman, and the wonderful care of the Corner Stone Hospice team of Michele Morals and her Supportative Care Nurses: Laura, Michelle, Nettie, Joe, Claudia, Joan, Stephanie, Debbie.
Dorothy was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church on Overlook Dr. and a member of the Faith Sunday School Class.
A Memorial service will be held Saturday, May, 2, 2015. Visitation will be at 10:00 am and the service is scheduled at 11:00 am at the Calvary Baptist Church.
Donations may be made to Corner Stone Hospice, 2590 Havendale Blvd, Winter Haven, FL, 33881, or Calvary Baptist Church, 2101 Overlook Dr., Winter Haven, FL, 33884.

I can't believe Dot is gone. I have many wonderful memories of our times together. We had lots of good times and laughs. Her family is wonderful and I love them all and appreciate their kindness. I miss Dot and all of them.
