Poway Mrs. Anne Winton Scott, formerly Anne Bernice Bush of Laurel, MS, died January 25, 2016, at her home in Poway, CA.Born in Oxford, MS, to William Darling and Louise Wootton Bush, Mrs. Scott was Mississippi's Miss Hospitality in 1954, a cheerleader and graduate of the University of Mississippi (Ole Miss) Class of 1956, a speech therapist and teacher of developmentally disabled children, the wife of a career Navy fighter pilot who raised three boys while moving frequently, and then a successful real estate agent, business owner (Anne Winton & Associates) and community leader in San Diego, CA. She was the consummate southern hostess, and could light up a room with the infectious smile and relentless energy of a woman who focused solely on the positive.Survivors include her three sons: Steven (Rita) Winton of Poway, CA, and their two children, Steven Jr. of Salt Lake City, UT, and Caitlin of San Francisco, CA: Mark (Tammy) Winton of Poway, CA; and Fred (Kristin) Winton III and their daughter, Helena, of Lakeside, CA; her brother, William W. Bush of Oxford, MS; and ex-husband, Fred McNorton. She was preceded in death by husbands, Capt. Fred B. Winton Jr., USN, and Charles Carroll Scott.
