CAPT Schaller Obituary


Rancho Bernardo Captain Paul Schaller (USNR), age 52, passed away on February 20, 2022 from natural causes, while on a snowmobiling trip to Idaho with longtime Navy friends.
Paul was born in Queens, NY on August 15, 1969 to Robert and Kathryn Schaller.He graduated from Alvirne High School in Hudson, NH and earned his Bachelor's degree from Embry Riddle Aeronautical University in Daytona Beach, Florida, before living his dream of serving 28 years in the Navy: 10 years of active duty and 18 years in the Navy Reserves.
Paul joined Jetblue Airways as a pilot in 2003, and spent the last 19 years traveling the world, ferrying travelers to their adventures and reuniting families.Paul's career mirrored his life of service to his country and his volunteer work with his church and Habitat for Humanity.
Paul's memory lives on through his wife, Cory; his son and light of his life, Max; adoring Australian Shepherd, Sydney; siblings, Paige and Bob; nieces and nephews, Jessica, Zachary, Madison, Colby, Shelby, and Alexa; countless friends across the globe, through the Navy and Jetblue; his love for The Pittsburgh Steelers; and his endless humor, living to make others laugh.A celebration of Paul's extraordinary life will be held on Friday, March 18th at 1:00pm at The Church at Rancho Bernardo.

Paul, was one of our son´s best friends, therefore have many nice memories of Paul. We have been fortunate to see Paul a few times since high school. He always was a gentleman and was very proud of his accomplishments. We send our condolences to the family.
