Edwin Joseph Schaefer Obituary
Edwin "Ed" Joseph Schaefer passed away in Poway, CA on March 18, 2022. Born on November 20, 1938 in Sterling, Colorado to Ben and Martha Schaefer. He was 83 years old.
Ed proudly served in the National Guard and earned a master's degree before working as an electrical contractor. He worked in construction for more than 50 years. Ed loved farming and rodeo.
He is survived by his wife JoLynne Schaefer of Poway, CA.; son Steve of Nampa, ID; daughters Linda of San Diego, CA and Leigh of Taos, NM and son Matt of Louisville, KY., and his grandchildren Jake and Sophia Schaefer.
A funeral mass was celebrated at St. Gabriel Catholic Church on Friday, April 8, 2022. Private inurnment will take place in the future at St. Peters Cemetery in Fleming, CO.

Ed was a good old cowboy. We were neighbors for 26yrs. Ed
enjoyed riding , and play on the polo team and roping. He was faithful to his Catholic up bringing. I have great memories of Mr. Schaefer. Being good friends with his oldest daughter Leigh and watching her younger siblings growing up in the small town Poway. I remember one spring Mr. Schaefer bought five piglets for the Del Mar Fair to show. One of the females was the rint and Ed thought it could be possible blind. He asked me if I wanted her, I said yes and he gave her to me. He was just nice that way.
I would like to give my Deepest heartfelt Condolences to Mrs. Schaefer Leigh Matt Linda Steven And Lauria.
I know that Ed is having a hay day in HEAVEN withhis daughter Meredith.
I hope he's drinking an ice cold Coors with My Daddy Bob in HEAVEN
