Dear Rosie & Family,
We were very surprised to learn of Wally's death. He was always so full of energy that it is had to imagine anything slowing him. He was very active in several professional organizations. I never knew how if found the time and energy.
Wally & I were good friends and fellow CPAs with our offices next door to each other. A couple of years before he decided to give full time to his San Diego practice, we combined our Hemet practices and were partners during that transition.
We remember the children for various reasons. First, Jan & I are Steve's Godparents. Steve, how long does that last? We remember to this day, Cathy's outstanding wedding at the Immaculata Church at University of San Diego. The music will be remembered as long as we have memories. Laurie--I was telling our son Tom about Wally's death and said I was going to contact the family. He said to extend his condolences. And for you Steve, unfortunately we had no kids your age so not the same relationship as your siblings but I am sure you are of the same high quality person.
And Rosie, our best in getting thru this period that none of us look forward to but your strength and family support will get you there.
Our Best, Joe & Jan Pehl

As an attorney, I worked with Wally on many matters. Wally got the big picture on complicated cases, could see the main issues clearly, worked personally with clients to get good results, and had a lively wit and a fun spirit. Wally was a unique individual, and I was privileged to know and work with him.
