Karen Helms

1969 - 2024

Karen Renee Helms, age 55, passed away on Thursday, December 5, 2024 at her residence in Pontotoc, MS. She was born on June 14, 1969 to David Troy and Melba Higginbotham Griffin. Karen was a 1987 graduate of Tupelo High School. She attended the Hayseed Cowboy Church. Karen enjoyed riding horses, being outdoors, the beach, spending time with family and friends and being with her loving fur baby, Cooper.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, December 15, 2024 from 1 to 3 P.M., at Browning Funeral Home Chapel, with a memorial service to follow at 3:00 P.M. Pastor Tommy Galloway and Pastor Gary Larson will officiate. Browning Funeral Home is honored to assist the Helms family.

Survivors include her mother, Melba Bishop (Doug); brother, Randy Griffin (Barbara); sister, Vicki Ferguson (David); step-sister-in-law, Donna Bishop; nephews, Cory Walsh(April) and Jordan Bishop; nieces, Krista Griffin, Olivia Ferguson, Brittany Smith (Brandon) and Caitlyn Stoppkotte (Clayton); great-nieces, Kinsley Harris, Savannah Smith, Emma Smith, Remi Smith, Lilly Walsh and Hannah Walsh; great nephews, Aden Walsh, Eli Walsh, Cameron Walsh and Henry Walsh.

She was preceded in death by her parent, her father, David Troy Griffin; her grandparents, Flora Blansett Higginbotham and Jack Higginbotham, Eldridge and Margaret Cook Griffin, step-sister, Charlotte White (Ryan) and step-brother, Johnny Bishop.
