Mr. Harry K. Applegett, 89, of Port Charlotte, died peacefully at his son's home in Fredericksburg, VA on March 8, 2023.
Harry was born on July 29, 1933 in Marion, OH to William P. Applegett and Eva K (Ballard) Applegett. He was an avid golfer and bridge player. He enjoyed reading and frequently volunteered his time at the Punta Gorda Charlotte Library.
Survivors include his children Mark (Becky), Tracey D'Alessandro (Vince), Dave (Sandy), Richard, and John (Nipa); his grandchildren; Allison, Timothy, John D'Alessandro, Kelsey, Jenna, Alexander, Taylor Hassel and Camryn Hassel; his great grandson Aiden; his brother Eugene; and his nephew Todd Applegett. He is survived by many wonderful friends who became family.
He was preceded in death by his wife Marjorie (Endicott) Applegett, his daughter Erin Applegett Hassel, his former wife Antoinette (Wilcox) Risner and former wife Janice (Zeigler) Applegett.
A celebration of life will be held at Twin Isles Country Club, 301 Madrid Boulevard, Punta Gorda, FL from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. on Saturday May 6, 2023.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Punta Gorda Charlotte Library in Punta Gorda, FL.
