Marylou Ziss Obituary

In Loving Memory of Marylou Ziss

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved Mother, Marylou Sizz, 96, on Saturday, November 9, 2024. She left this world surrounded by the love of her family early Saturday morning in her sleep.

Born a day after the 4th of July, 1928, Marylou was the first woman from her ancestral family to live past the age of 62. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother, Marylou created a home filled with warmth and laughter.

In addition to her role as a matriarch, Marylou was an accomplished golfer and former club champion at Riverby Hills Country Club. She was everyone's favorite partner when it came to playing cards, especially pinocle or euchre. Marylou was a member of the VFW, Moose, Elks Club, and Englewood Presbyterian Church.

Marylou is survived by her daughters Linda Kern (John) and Beth Contreras (Leonard), and son Randy (Holly). She is also survived by 5 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren as well as her best friend Penny Getz (Haskins). She was preceded in death by her son-Steven Phillp Ziss (1979) and her grandson Nathan Daniel Kern (2010).

Her memory will forever be etched in our hearts, and her legacy will live on through the values she instilled in us all.
