Sue Radebaugh Obituary

Sue Maloney died on Thursday, December 19, 2024, at age 84. She was born in East Peoria, Illinois on December 8, 1940.

Sue was a retired U.S. Postal counter clerk. She worked in different libraries in Peoria and Florida. She would also proofread the Sun newspaper.

Sue spent four years as a tour guide volunteer host in four remote National Parks. She was a long-distance runner and ran the Boston Marathon at the age of 52.

I, Harry, met Sue in 2000 in the Coastal Cruiser bicycle club; Sue's other family. We got married in 2009 and bought two homes, one in Englewood and one small trailer in the foothills of the Smokies in North Carolina. We traveled on our yellow gold-wing motorcycle coast to coast and went hiking and tent camping in her favorite National Parks.

To most people reading this she was just another person, but I loved her and I miss her dearly. Parkinson's disease took her life.

Sue is survived by her husband, Harry; her three children Jerry, Neil, Lori, and their three spouses; brother Bob (Kathy); and eight grandchildren.

Sue, I'm not far behind you. Please wait for me. Till we meet again, may the wind always be to your back and godspeed.

A brief open ceremony will take place Friday, January 3, 2025 at Sarasota National Cemetery.
