Elijio Hernandez Obituary
Port Clinton - Elijio Hernandez, 89, of Port Clinton, OH, passed away, Tuesday, August 28, 2018, at his residence. Elijio was born on February 27, 1929 in Starr County, TX, the son of Alonzo and Felipà (Herrera) Hernandez. Elijio was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He worked at
U.S. Gypsum for 38 years until his retirement. On May 02, 1948 in Alamo, TX, he married Lucia Cavazos and she preceded him in death on January 23, 2011. He will be greatly missed by his loving family and friends.
Those left to cherish his memory are: Children: Elijio Hernandez Jr., Olga Ebert, Eddie (Cheryl Smith) Hernandez and Artemio "Archie" (Kami) Hernandez; 9 Grandchildren; 17 Great-Grandchildren; Brother: Elais "Cookie" Hernandez; Sisters: Elda and Elva Gonzolaz. Elijio was preceded in death by his parents, wife, infant son: Oscar Hernandez, brothers: Edwardo, Ernest, and Erasmo Hernandez.
Visitation will be 2-4 & 6-8pm, Thursday, August 30, 2018 at Gerner-Wolf-Walker Funeral Home & Crematory, Port Clinton, OH, with family prayers at 1:30pm, Friday, August 31. A Funeral Mass will be conducted by Father John Missler at 2:00pm, Friday, August 31, 2018 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Interment will be in Catawba Island Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be given to Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Online condolences may be made to the family at www.walkerfuneralhomes.com.

Our Heartfelt condolences cousins, so sorry that Tio Licho has passed. Great memories and conversations with him will live on in my heart!! Everytime he spoke to mom before he hung up he would tell her to say hello to each and everyone of us by name. Keeping yall in our prayers. Sending hugs and kissess to Ohio! RIP Tio Licho! Love you!❤

To the Hernandez family - my sincere condolences to the family. He will be missed by all of us and he has joined his beloved wife, Lucy. He was a great grandfather to Cynthia and Carlotta and we all enjoyed visiting him when we were in Ohio on holidays. May he rest in peace now and be forever remembered. Our prayers are with the family and his many friends.
